Dukono volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): vulcanian-sized explosions continue

At about 17:00 local time yesterday, a vigorous explosion took place from the crater vent. A grey ash column released tephra material to an altitude of 2,600 meters towards the northwest.
The PVMBG volcano observatory reported a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 21 mm and a duration of 47 seconds.
In order to mitigate risk, people are advised to avoid the area within a radius of 2 km from the crater.
